10th January 1852 John Walder Labourer Hurstpierpoint / Cuckfield One fagot to value of threepence from Charles Tulley Plea not guilty Verdict Guilty on the whole endictment 1st Offence Sentence: One week imprisonment to hard labour 24th February 1852 One sack to the value of one shilling and sixpence and one bushel half of another bushel of flour to the value of 10 shillings. Property of Charles Packham and another Six months hard labour, last week of each calendar month in solitary confinement. Plea not guilty Verdict guilty on the whole indictment Second Offence Transported for seven years to commence at the expiration of his first sentence. |

Mary had a daughter Alice Walder, born 3 Oct 1869 in the Cuckfield
Union Workhouse. Mary never married. Alice married James Gideon Goldsmith (1869 -1900) at Chiddingly and they had the following children: Frederick Thomas 1893 - 1911 Lily Mary 1894 - 1940 Elsie 1896 - 1962 Florence Alice 1898 - 1974 James Henry 1900 - 1970 Alice died 2 Apr 1949 in Eastbourne.
