John is the the most likely candidate for the victim of Mr Bone-

East Grinstead Assizes
Bone, George, of Dorking Surrey, carpenter, indicted for grand and petty larceny. On 20 Dec.1573 he broke into the close of William a Deane at Horsham and stole a scythe (11d) from the wall of a house.
On the 9 July 1573 at Horsham Bone, of Horsham, labourer, stole a scythe (6s 8d) from John Walder.
Broke gaol and is at large.

Palmer, Thomas, sheriff of Sussex, indicted for a negligent escape. On the 10 Aug 1573 Richard Covert JP committed George Bone to Horsham gaol on suspicion of felony. On 20 Aug. Palmer negligently allowed him to escape.
Fined 40s on appearance.
