Gery, Elizabeth, of Tring, Herts, spinster, indicted for infanticide. By an inquisition held at Nuthurst, 11 Sept. 1575, before Henry Butler, coroner, on the body of a male child, the jury--William Seale, John a Wood sen, Thomas Pike, John Benet, Thomas Walder, Richard Jupe, Thomas Botting, John Hill sen, James Pellet, James Michell, Thomas Jupe, John Dowse--found that on 13 Aug. at Nuthurst Gery killed the child by stuffing nettles into its mouth and throwing it into a gutter.
Guilty; to hang.
